DESCRIPTION:Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD): What the Vascular Technologist Should Know — 07/11/2023 \n\n\n\nSpeakers: \nMelinda Bender\, BS RDMS RVT\nHeather Gornik\, MD RPVI RVT \nOverview:\nThis webinar will review clinical and vascular features of the rare vascular disease fibromuscular dysplasia and the approach to vascular duplex scanning of FMD in various locations.  A series of clinical cases will be presented with perspectives from a vascular technologist and FMD-specialist physician. \nObjectives:\nUpon Completion of this course the learner should be able to:\n1. Review clinical features of FMD and why it is important to recognize FMD in the vascular laboratory\n2. Define sonographic findings of FMD in different arterial locations\n3. Explain technical tips and tricks for image optimization for FMD\n4. Define arterial aneurysm and dissection as manifestations of FMD \n\nFREE to All SVU Members\, however advanced registration is required.\nRegistration closes on July 10.

SUMMARY:3rd North American Workshop on Ultrasound in Giant Cell Arteritis/Large Vessel Vasculitis
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to train providers interested in performing vascular ultrasound for the diagnosis of giant cell arteritis/large vessel vasculitis. Hands-on training will be a significant component of this activity\, partnered with expert faculty in the field\, who will discuss and demonstrate how to identify vascular pathological findings. Intermediate to advanced skill in the performance of ultrasound is strongly recommended as a prerequisite to this course.
