Barton “Bart” Bean, RVT, FSVU
The Society for Vascular Ultrasound is deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Barton “Bart” Bean, RVT, FSVU, on September 15, 2025. As a founding member and first President of the SVU, Bart was a true pioneer whose vision helped shape the profession of vascular technology. Known for his humility, kindness, and unwavering passion, he dedicated his life to advancing the field and supporting generations of sonographers through mentorship, education, and leadership. He served for many years as Co-Editor of the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound, bringing both expertise and generosity to the role. A celebration of his life is planned for January 2026.”
