Personal Statement

Encouraging sonographers to be more involved in the SVU is important to me. When I first graduated, I was thrilled to be part of the SVU by attending conferences, submitting articles to the JVU, presenting case studies and research at the national conference, etc. However, after a time, I felt like there was a barrier that kept me from increasing my involvement. I lost the energy and passion and moved on to other things. I don’t want that to happen to today’s newer sonographers. I want to be the helping hand that supports their education, encourages their participation, and increases their impact in our professional society. I feel like there is a place for all sonographers, whether new to the field or seasoned. The more people involved, the better we can grow as a profession.
