Leadership Award (formerly Cynthia Burnham Award) – The most prestigious service award offered, it is presented to active members of SVU who have made outstanding contributions to the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU).
Here are some examples of selection criteria for the Leadership Award:
- Sustained Leadership: Demonstrating a history of consistent and exemplary leadership within the field of vascular sonography, including serving in leadership roles such as board positions, committee chairs, or other significant roles.
- Innovative Initiatives: Initiating and successfully implementing innovative programs, projects, or initiatives that have significantly advanced the goals and mission of the Society of Vascular Ultrasound.
- Membership Engagement: Being actively involved in promoting and increasing membership engagement, retention, and growth within the Society of Vascular Ultrasound.
- Education and Training: Making substantial contributions to the development and enhancement of educational resources, courses or programs related to vascular ultrasound.
- Advocacy and Public Awareness: Advocating for the profession of vascular ultrasound on a broader scale, including efforts to increase public awareness, policy advocacy, or collaboration with other healthcare organizations.
- Professional Development: Supporting the professional growth and development of fellow members through mentorship, guidance or other forms of support.
- Patient Centered Care: Promoting and advancing the principles of patient-centered care within the field of vascular ultrasound, with the focus on improving patient outcomes and safety.
- Service to the Community: Demonstrating a commitment to service beyond society, such as volunteering in the broader healthcare community or participating in charitable activities related to vascular health.
These criteria help evaluate candidates who have made exceptional contributions to the Society of Vascular Ultrasound, ensuring that the Leadership Award is presented to individuals who has had a lasting impact on the organization and the profession.
