Please share your passion for/commitment to /experience with vascular ultrasound and how this will be transformative at the Board of Director level:
My interest in healthcare was ignited by a pivotal experience at the age of 8 when my grandmother had a heart attack and we rushed to the hospital. I vividly recall the anxiety-filled hours of waiting and the relief when the doctor informed us that her surgery had been successful. Seeing the impact of healthcare on my family’s well-being, particularly the joy on my grandfather’s face, solidified my decision to pursue a career in this field. In pursuit of my passion, I enrolled at the Oregon Institute of Technology and graduated in 2003 as a Registered Vascular Technologist. For the past 20 years, I have dedicated my career to the UC Davis Health System as a Vascular Technologist. Even after all these years, vascular pathology continues to excite me. Since 2004, I have actively engaged in educating and training a diverse range of individuals, including vascular lab students, residents, fellows, surgeons, nurses, and other professionals seeking knowledge about vascular testing. Working at a renowned teaching institution has allowed me to collaborate with esteemed vascular surgeons and interventionists. In my current role as Lab Supervisor, I am responsible for managing our team, ensuring continuous training, and upholding the highest level of care for our patients. Over the course of my career, I have gained comprehensive experience in various technical operations, including IAC accreditation, staff recruitment, and long-term strategic planning for our lab. As I step into the role of Technical Director, I am committed to upholding the exemplary patient care standards advocated by the SVU. Additionally, I will prioritize the professional growth and development of our lab technologists. With my experience in this field and the invaluable platform provided by SVU, I am genuinely excited about utilizing my skills to contribute to the continued advancement of the Vascular Ultrasound field.
