This presentation reviews the role workstation equipment plays in occupational injury risks. Sonographer work posture changes will be reviewed as a significant part of an ergonomic workstation. Some of the newest designs and prototypes are also presented along with possible injury risks associated with them.
Upon completion of this course, attendees should be prepared to:
- Recognize the role of all the components of the ultrasound exam room
- Discuss how ultrasound has evolved and possible risks resulting from new technology
- Identify the components of a “systems” approach to injury prevention
