Message from the President

By Prudhvi Challa

Brian Sapp As we enter a new season for the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, I want to begin by expressing my sincere appreciation to our outgoing Board of Directors. Their leadership, commitment, and steady guidance during a period of meaningful administrative transition have helped strengthen the foundation of our Society. On behalf of SVU, thank you for your service and for the time, expertise, and energy you have devoted to advancing vascular ultrasound.

I also want to congratulate and welcome our incoming Board members. You are stepping into leadership at an important moment for SVU—one filled with opportunity, momentum, and responsibility. The months ahead will call for engagement, collaboration, and a shared willingness to lead with intention. I look forward to working alongside you as we shape the next chapter of our Society.

One of the most exciting milestones ahead is the Society for Vascular Ultrasound 2026 Annual Conference, taking place July 29 through August 1, 2026. The theme, One Pulse, One Purpose, reflects not only our shared identity, but our shared direction. While our roles within the vascular community may differ, we are united by a common mission: to elevate patient care through excellence in vascular ultrasound.

The 2026 Annual Conference will bring together the global vascular community for cutting-edge education, evidence-based practice updates, hands-on learning, and conversations that will help define the future of vascular diagnostics. Beyond the educational content, the conference is an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, exchange ideas, mentor emerging professionals, and recommit to the purpose that brought us into this field.

Over the past several years, SVU has undergone important organizational and administrative changes. While progress has been made, the next six months represent a pivotal window. This is a moment that calls for engagement and action. I am challenging both our Board and our membership to step forward, get involved, and help drive meaningful progress. We have an ambitious agenda, and achieving it will require collective effort, shared accountability, and a willingness to lead beyond titles.

SVU is built on a proud heritage shaped by dedicated professionals who believed deeply in the value of this Society and its role in advancing our profession. At the same time, we are energized by a growing number of early-career members who bring fresh ideas, innovation, and enthusiasm. Together, this blend of experience and forward thinking gives us a unique opportunity to strengthen our impact and extend our reach.

Our vision also extends beyond our own organization. By working collaboratively with partner societies, both nationally and internationally, we can continue to raise the standard of vascular ultrasound education and practice—locally, nationally, and globally.

The path ahead is one of purpose, collaboration, and possibility. I am confident that by working together with intention and unity, we will continue to advance our profession and better serve the patients who depend on us.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the Society for Vascular Ultrasound. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together.

Brian Sapp, RVT, RPhS, FSVU
