On June 22, 2020, the SVU Board of Directors approved the following statement in support of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts:
The Society for Vascular Ultrasound continues to stand with other leading medical organizations in pursuit of inclusive and equitable practices within our profession. We are committed to reducing disparities in health care and advocating for employment practices and quality treatment devoid of bias in regard to sex, race, color, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, citizenship, national origin, or any other protected status.
To this end, SVU leadership is exploring meaningful steps–now, and as we move forward–to ensure that our organization and profession cultivate cultural competencies and inclusive practices. In the next few months, we will engage in thoughtful dialogue to develop concrete actions in pursuit of these critical goals.
